Introduction to R/C

Radio control modeling is one of the most rewarding hobbies around. Just ask the over 300,000 members of our parent organization, the Academy of Model Aeronautics.

Let's get one thing straight though,  these are not toys. R/C planes and helicopters have all the controls that full-size aircraft do, with one big difference. In R/C, you don't have the advantage of sitting in the cockpit to maintain your bearings! You should never, ever attempt to teach yourself how to fly an R/C model alone. Rather, the best way to learn is under the supervision of a qualified, experienced and friendly R/C instructor.

Minnesota Valley RC is fortunate to have a number of qualified and motivated R/C instructors who will be happy to check your plane out, give it a maiden voyage and hook your transmitter up to a "buddy box" to get you up and flying before you know it.
